Apex Legends to Test Solo Queue for Diamond+ Ranked Players

Apex Legends to Test Solo Queue for Diamond+ Ranked Players

Apex Legends will implement a solo queue only test for all players Diamond rank and above in Ranked mode. This test will run from June 9th to June 23rd. During this period, players who are Diamond, Master, or Predator will be unable to squad up with premade teams in Ranked.

Test Objectives

The developers' primary hypotheses for this change are:

  • To create more evenly matched high-skill lobbies.
  • To reduce instances of hard-carries into Diamond, Master, and Predator ranks.
  • To build greater trust in the overall fairness and integrity of high-rank matches.

While this feature has been a frequent request from a segment of the community, Respawn will be closely monitoring both community sentiment and match data throughout the test period to evaluate its impact.

Previous Visual Error

It's important to note that an in-game notification encountered by some players on May 19th, suggesting these restrictions were already in place, was a visual error. Players were, and currently still are, able to squad up without restrictions until the test officially begins on June 9th.
