Apex Legends Targets Cheaters with New Anti-Cheat Measures and Patch Fixes

Apex Legends is implementing a significant crackdown on cheating, specifically targeting "jitter aim" and RC filters used to exploit aim assist and negate recoil on controllers. Effective immediately, players using these methods will face bans.
Anti-Cheat Team Takes Firm Stance
Respawn's anti-cheat team has equipped Apex Legends with in-game detections to identify and disable these exploits. Players caught attempting to use hardware or software to alter aim assist or recoil patterns will be flagged as cheaters and have their accounts banned in accordance with the game's Terms of Service. This move aims to support fair play at EWC Paris and maintain competitive integrity across the game. The team stated they have alternate anti-cheat approaches ready if needed and will continue to monitor the situation.
Latest Patch Addresses Key Bugs
Alongside the anti-cheat update, a new patch was deployed on July 9, 2026, addressing a couple of notable issues:
- FIXED: A bug where some players experienced limited movement after landing from a dropship.
- FIXED: E-District now uses the correct map overview.
