Apex Legends Matchmaking Test Now Live After Brief Delay

Apex Legends has officially launched its new matchmaking test, following a brief delay earlier today. The test, which aims to create tighter and more competitive lobbies, was originally scheduled for 10 AM PT but was pushed back.

Matchmaking Test Details

The core change in this test restricts premade squads to a one-Ranked tier differential between squadmates. Previously, players could form squads with a two-tier differential.

Respawn Entertainment's goal with this adjustment is to limit players from creating squads with wide skill bands. The expectation is that this will lead to more consistent matches against similarly-skilled opponents, fostering a fairer and more competitive experience for everyone.

Test Duration

The matchmaking test is now live and will run until the end of the current split, which is scheduled for June 23rd.
