Valve just shipped a new Counter-Strike 2 update, primarily focusing on animation fixes and miscellaneous bug resolutions.
Animation & Gameplay
The update addresses several visual and gameplay-related animation issues. Players will notice improvements with the XM1014, as flickering shells during reloads have been fixed. The Dual Berettas also received attention, with bugs in both first-person and spectator modes now resolved. An issue where inspect/cancel actions could cause multiple worldmodel deploys has been patched, alongside a fix for players getting stuck in a planted-turn state.
Further animation refinements include smoother foot IK transitions and an adjustment to the first-person in-air crouch transition time to better match the third-person animation. Valve also tackled instances of high-frequency stutter steps causing large pose changes and leg snaps when quickly stopping and continuing in the same direction. The third-person bomb plant animation has been adjusted to more closely align with its first-person counterpart, and minor viewmodel animation tweaks were implemented.
Miscellaneous Fixes
Beyond animations, the patch resolves a critical random crash on startup that occurred when a non-default Audio Device was specified in settings, or when sound_device_override was used in a config file or command line. Official map guides have been adjusted to match new surface smoothing, and dropped weapons with silencers now correctly reflect their silenced state.
