Embark Studios has released Hotfix 10.3.1 for The Finals, addressing several unintended bugs that emerged with the recent Update 10.3. The patch temporarily reverts a significant change to goo mechanics and resolves issues impacting gadgets and gameplay.

Balance Changes
- Goo - The time it takes for goo to break when overlapping a player has been temporarily increased from 0.2s to 0.8s.
This reversion comes after the 10.3 change led to severe unintended bugs, including goo failing to interrupt objective steal attempts and allowing players to shield stealing teammates from all damage. Embark intends to reintroduce the original change in Update 10.6 once these issues are resolved.
Bug Fixes
- Cosmetics - Fixed an issue with the Envy Jersey cosmetic that caused it to change color.
- APS Turret - Fixed an issue that could cause deployed APS Turrets to bounce around, often moving other objects in the world with them.
- Data Reshaper - Fixed an issue that caused items to be reshaped into a random object, rather than a pre-defined object based on what was being reshaped.
- Gameplay - Fixed an issue that could prevent or interrupt sliding.
- Gameplay - Fixed an issue with Quick Melee attacks that could cause them to be delayed when used in combo with melee weapons.
- VFX - Reverted a change to the Gateway’s preview effects that made it too hard to see against light backgrounds and the sky.
