Team Fortress 2 Update Fixes Crashes, Audio, and Map Exploits

Valve just shipped an update for Team Fortress 2, bringing a series of fixes for client stability, audio bugs, and map exploits. Players will receive the update automatically upon restarting the game.

Key Fixes

The update primarily targets several long-standing issues and includes contributions from the community:

  • Fixed a client crash related to material proxies, improving overall game stability.
  • Addressed an audio bug where Scout.NegativeVocalization04 sounds in Mann vs. Machine were not playing due to a volume typo. This fix was a community contribution from That Hat Guy.
  • Corrected an issue with The Spy-cicle not utilizing its icicle lightwarp, a visual fix provided by BreavyTF2.
  • Updated material for cp_coldfront to resolve a compression issue.
  • Fixed a missing material on the prop for Taunt: Heartbreaker.

Map-Specific Adjustments

Further adjustments were made to koth_demolition to enhance gameplay fairness and prevent out-of-bounds exploits:

  • Fixed a player clip on the helipad that allowed players to stand outside the playable area (thanks to Midnite).
  • Fixed several player clip pixel walks on certain doors.
  • Fixed a blockbullets floating above BLU spawn (thanks to True_Boredom).
