Team Fortress 2 Kicks Off Summer 2026 Event with New Maps, Cosmetics, and Taunts

Valve just shipped a new update for Team Fortress 2, officially kicking off the Summer 2026 event. Players can expect a wealth of new community-contributed content, including maps, cosmetics, taunts, and Unusual effects, alongside significant general fixes and stability improvements.
Summer 2026 Event Highlights
The Summer 2026 event introduces a substantial amount of new content, running through September 15th, 2026:
- 6 new community maps: Dryfield, Camp Saxton, Shorelight, Redwood, Premuda, and Mojave.
- Summer 2026 Cosmetic Case: Features 24 new community-contributed items and a chance for a taunt Unusualifier.
- 4 new community-contributed taunts in the Mann Co. Store:
- The Circuit Breaker
- Buffoon's Bivouac
- Faux-calization
- Friendly Fire
- 12 new community-created Unusual effects:
- 7 new effects for Unusual hats
- 5 new effects for Unusual taunts
- Summer 2026 War Paint Case: Contains 10 new community-created War Paints from the Summer 2026 Collection, also with a chance for a taunt Unusualifier.
During the event, all cosmetic and taunt cases (excluding crates) will grant Summer 2026 Unusual effects instead of their standard ones.
General Fixes and Improvements
Beyond the seasonal content, the update also brings crucial security and stability enhancements, alongside numerous community-driven bug fixes:
- Security and stability improvements.
- Fixed various alpha channel issues for cosmetics like The Creature's Grin, Rocket Operator, The Bountiful Bow, The Alternative Medicine Mann, The Candyman's Cap, and Voodoo Juju's backpack icon.
- Corrected the "Neo Tokyo" warpaint on the BLU team to match the RED team's alpha channel.
- Resolved issues with Stat Clock models attaching incorrectly and displaying '0' on world models.
- Fixed intel carrier glow disappearing when Spy cloaks.
- Addressed Silver Botkiller Mk.I cubemapping errors.
- Corrected a misspelling on cp_well's BLU rocket clamp texture.
- Fixed wrong paths in soundscript events for some taunts.
- Prevented Spy control point response rules lines from playing when disguised/invisible.
- Fixed weapon Unusual effects and orphaned particles after death.
- Resolved the Energy Orb Unusual effect desyncing from weapons and effects flooding the screen when spectating.
- Fixed missing coin effect for HOUWAR's second style.
- Updated the outdated description for the Splendid Screen.
- Trimmed delay at the start of the sound file for the Panic Attack's shooting sound.
- Fixed the Engineer not being able to move for a few seconds after using Taunt: Cheers!.
Map Updates
Several maps received specific updates to address gameplay and visual issues:
- cp_powerhouse: Fixed a collision problem with crates on final control points.
- cp_fortezza:
- Reworked the interior of the shack building next to Point A.
- Rebalanced ammo packs around Point A.
- Improved visuals across the map.
- Made the rotation for the shortcut path shorter.
- koth_blowout:
- Prevented sentry guns from being built inside a prop under the stairs in the maintenance room.
- Implemented visual changes to improve clarity and consistency.
