Rainbow Six Siege: Economy Overhaul, Ranked 3.0 Adjustments, and Dokkaebi Nerfs Detailed

Ubisoft has outlined significant changes coming to Rainbow Six Siege's in-game economy, alongside addressing community feedback on Ranked 3.0, Dokkaebi's balance, and the return of the 1v1 playlist.
Marketplace and Economy: A New Direction
The Marketplace, initially a step forward for player-driven economy, introduced security and economic challenges. Issues like account theft, botting, credit transfers, pricing instability, and distorted item circulation led to its closure. Ubisoft is now focused on rebuilding a safer, fairer, and more robust system with stronger account protection and better monitoring tools. The Marketplace will remain closed until these foundational issues are resolved.

Season 3 Economy Changes
Starting in Season 3, new event packs will transition to R6 Credits only. M.U.T.E. Protocol: Flesh & Metal and Rengoku will be the last events where new collection packs can be purchased with Renown. However, older collections will return with dual-currency options, providing more opportunities to spend Renown. Masterpieces will also become more accessible, purchasable directly with R6 Credits and including event packs, rather than requiring completion of an entire collection.
Community Checkpoint #3 Recap: Ranked 3.0, Dokkaebi Updates & More
Ubisoft also provided updates on several community-raised topics, including Ranked 3.0 adjustments, Dokkaebi balancing, and map integration.

Ranked 3.0: Early Adjustments & Player Feedback
Following the rollout of Ranked 3.0, the team addressed community feedback regarding clarity, fairness, and competitive integrity:
- Placement Matches & Progression: Placements were designed to reveal existing skill from Ranked 2.0. Future seasons will see placement matches carry more weight in determining starting rank.
- Champion Rank Philosophy: Champion rank is intended for sustained, high-level performance and cannot be placed into directly.
- KDA and Rank: KDA is not a factor in rank progression; the system rewards team wins and impact from all roles.
- Rank Distribution: Early season clustering in higher ranks is not intended. Future adjustments aim to create clearer rank separation and improve matchmaking.
System Improvements Already in Progress:
- Minimum Rank Point gains introduced to prevent stalled progression.
- RP fairness adjustments for more consistent point gains/losses within matches.
- Ongoing tuning to improve transparency and trust in the system.
Dokkaebi Balancing Updates
Dokkaebi's recent redesign, while addressing long-standing issues, led to an overcorrection in her strength. The team is implementing both short-term and future adjustments:
Short-Term Adjustments (This Season):
- Update 2.1: Introduces a global cooldown on her Jegeo Payload to reduce spam.
- Update 2.2: Moves to a per-target cooldown system for better control and counterplay.
Future Counterplay Improvements (Season 3):
- Dokkaebi's ability will shift to a signal-based system.
- Defenders like Mute and Tubarao will be able to interrupt the signal before the payload is delivered.
Calypso Casino: Learning from Player Experience
The introduction of Calypso Casino provided insights into new map integration. While heavy featuring ensured exposure, it reduced overall map variety. The team is exploring alternative ways to encourage engagement with new maps without limiting playlist variety. Players can use Clear House mode, Landmark drills, and community guides to learn new maps.
1v1 Playlist Returns
The 1v1 Playlist is making a comeback in Season 2, incorporating player feedback for a more competitive experience with reduced downtime and greater map variety.
What's New in the Next Iteration:
- Expanded map pool (from 3 to 5 maps).
- Improved matchmaking.
- Faster pacing with reduced prep time and clearer objectives.
- New Attrition system replacing operator bans.
- Improvements to overall match flow and variety.
A Ranked version of 1v1 is not yet included but remains a highly requested feature, with the team focusing on refining the core experience first.
Player feedback continues to be central to ongoing updates, guiding development priorities alongside live data.
