PUBG Global Series 8 Heats Up in Shanghai, Playgrounds Unleashes Community Creations
The PUBG Global Series (PGS) Circuit 3 is now underway in Shanghai, China, marking the decisive second half of the 2026 PGS season. From August 5 to 23, 24 teams—12 Global Partner Teams and 12 Regional Qualifiers—will compete across PGS 7, PGS 8, and PGS 9 for a total prize pool of $500,000.
Crucially, Circuits 3 and 4 will award twice as many PGS Points as the first half of the season, intensifying the race for a spot at PGC 2026. The champions of PGS 7 and PGS 8 will each earn 60 points, while the PGS 9 champion will secure 120 points.
Matches for PGS 8 Winners Stage are currently live, with most daily matches starting at 10:00 UTC. The tournament features a progressive stage system, where PGS 7 standings seed teams for PGS 8, and cumulative Circuit 3 PGS Points determine seeding for PGS 9. The top eight teams in the Winners Stages of PGS 7 and PGS 8 will also receive Advantage Points for their respective Final Stages.

PUBG: Playgrounds – Community-Created Experiences
Alongside the competitive action, the August Update introduces PUBG: Playgrounds, a new hub designed to make community-created modes more accessible. Previously, custom modes were limited to private Custom Matches, making discovery difficult. Playgrounds will feature popular and entertaining player-created modes, allowing players to jump directly into them via matchmaking.
Modes will be updated monthly, with developers selecting content based on gameplay data from Custom Matches, including total playtime and participation rates. Community-created mode contests may also serve as a source. Creators should note that modes can be excluded if they violate the Rules of Conduct, contain critical bugs, or inappropriate content.
