Deadlock has released a minor update on June 30, 2026, bringing significant changes to core objectives, general gameplay, items, and hero balance.

Objective Reworks: Unstable Rift and Urn

The King of the Hill objective has been rethemed and renamed to "Unstable Rift." This event no longer requires an Urn delivery to start. Instead, it features a variable start time (± 1 minute) with a global announcement 25 seconds before it spawns, preceded by an in-world visual effect 60 seconds prior indicating its random lane. The spawn interval has increased from 6 to 7 minutes.

Comeback bonuses for the Unstable Rift, including resists, extra bounty, and claiming timer, now scale linearly based on the net worth deficit (0% bonus at 0% NW behind to full bonus at 15% NW behind). Securing the Rift now spawns a wave of 5 Rift Troopers, increasing to up to 12 when trailing (scaling linearly). These troopers do not drop souls, but spawn with 100% extra health and damage, which grows slightly per event (100%, then 120%, etc.). Players within the Unstable Rift Zone are now revealed on the minimap. The Rift bounty has increased by 35% to compensate for the removal of the Urn runner bounty, keeping the overall objective bounty unchanged. The permanent buff previously granted by the Unstable Rift has been removed.

Urn running is now a standalone objective. It spawns at either end of the map (previous neutral pickup locations) and must be delivered to the opposite end, with spawn times at 10, 15, 20, 25 minutes, and so on. The Urn runner is no longer revealed, disarmed, or silenced, though passing through doorways or using Mirage teleport still drops it. The Urn cannot be manually dropped; it is released upon taking light or heavy melee damage, being stunned, or being killed. It remains where it drops and does not return to its spawn point. Urn runners can no longer parry.

The Urn's bounty value begins to decay 45 seconds after pickup, draining gradually over another 45 seconds before the Urn is removed. It is deposited immediately upon reaching the drop-off point. The Urn bounty for the runner is 250 + 70/minute, retaining its comeback bounty component. Upon deposit, all souls are released as orbs, which can be shared with an ally if secured. The Urn runner now receives +4 permanent buffs on deposit. The Urn is also louder, making it easier for nearby enemies to detect. After 3 minutes from spawn, the Urn will slowly walk towards its deposit location on its own. The Urn runner's passive bonuses now scale linearly based on how far behind their team is (0%-15% NW deficit), similar to the Unstable Rift scaling.

General Changes

  • Health per boon reduced by 5%.
  • All ultimate base and upgrade cooldowns nerfed by 15%.
  • Rejuv buff duration reduced from 4 to 3 minutes.
  • Respawn ramp adjusted from 8-30s (5-19m) to 8-35s (5-20m).
  • Guardian bounty reduced from 1500 to 1250.
  • Walker bounty reduced from 4000 to 3500.
  • First blood bounty reduced from 150 to 125.
  • Base kill bounty reduced from 250 to 200 (max 2200 at 40m).
  • Trooper bounty rescaled from 116 + 1.16/m to 100 + 2/m.
  • Trooper bounty ratio in the deniable flying orb increased from 40% to 50%.
  • Minimum unsecured souls allowed to drop reduced from 150 to 50 + 5/min.
  • Dash Jump input window increased from 0.2s to 0.25s, distance from 18m to 19m, and vertical impulse from 400 to 425.
  • Jump Pads on top of double sinner buildings removed.
  • Shop now shows investment bar previews when hovering items.
  • Street Brawl: Zipline lockout removed, item randomness increased, and fixes for Enhanced Sharpshooter/Spiritual Overflow bonuses.

Item Adjustments

  • Mystic Shot: Cooldown increased from 8s to 9s.
  • Toxic Bullets: Bleed damage increased from 1.7% to 1.9%.
  • Scourge: Max Health DPS reduced from 3.5% to 2.6% and now scales with spirit power.
  • Cursed Relic: Damage Penalty increased from -10% to -14%.

Hero Balance Changes

Numerous heroes received adjustments to their abilities and talents:

  • Abrams: Siphon Life T3 radius and Shoulder Charge T3 cooldown reduced.
  • Apollo: Riposte T1 cooldown, grace window, cast range, and targeting angle increased. Flawless Advance Heal spirit scaling and Itani Lo Sahn T3 bonus damage increased.
  • Billy: Bullet damage per boon, Bashdown melee scaling, Bashdown T3 heavy melee damage, and Rising Ram T3 Max HP Damage reduced. Rising Ram T3 Max HP Damage spirit scaling increased.
  • Celeste: Dazzling Trick cooldown reduced. Radiant Daggers buff duration and spirit scaling increased. Shining Wonder bounce range and damage increased.
  • Doorman: Doorway cooldown increased.
  • Drifter: Health per boon increased. Rend cast and post-cast times reduced. Rend T2 cooldown, Bloodscent T1 move speed, and Bloodscent T2 missing health heal increased.
  • Dynamo: Rejuvenating Aurora regeneration increased.
  • Grey Talon: Rain of Arrows cooldown increased. Guided Owl permanent spirit bonus reduced.
  • Holliday: Powder Keg velocity reduced, charge delay increased, spirit scaling reduced, and T3 damage reduced.
  • Haze: Sleep Dagger T1 bullet resist and T2 cooldown increased. Smoke Bomb T3 bullet lifesteal increased.
  • Ivy: Entangling Thorns spirit scaling and Kudzu Connection Replicated Healing per boon scale increased. Air Drop cooldown reduction on allies increased.
  • Lash: Ground Strike cooldown reduced. Flog angle increased.
  • Mina: Rake missing health as damage increased. Sanguine Retreat T3 now also increases range. Nox Nostra damage and T1 damage increased.
  • Mo & Krill: Sand Blast T2 slow and T3 cooldown increased. Combo bonus max health per kill increased.
  • Paige: Health per boon increased. Bookwyrm T1, T2, and T3 talents reworked. Plot Armor T1 fire rate spirit scaling and T3 barrier increased. Rallying Charge now properly counts non-hero impacts as a miss for CD reduction, and T3 Max Amp increased.
  • Paradox: Kinetic Carbine T2 now increases move speed spirit scaling. Kinetic Carbine T3 now affects both Min and Max Damage Scaling.
  • Pocket: Bullet damage per boon and Flying Cloak T3 cooldown reduced.
  • Rem: Tag Along healing per second spirit scaling and T3 missing health spirit scaling reduced. Lil Helpers Spirit Resist reduced. Lil Helpers T1, T2, and T3 talents reworked.
  • Seven: Lightning Ball charge delay reduced. Storm Cloud time to expand increased, damage interval increased (DPS unchanged), and T2 now increases Initial Radius.
  • Shiv: Alt Fire damage now has custom value per boon, ammo consumed increased, and knockback movement disabled by slowing hex state. Serrated Knives cooldown reduced. Slice and Dice now deals +25 light melee damage (75 total) instead of spirit damage, and changed from -6% Spirit Resist to +4% Damage Amp. Bloodletting T2 and T3 talents reworked. Killing Blow now deals damage to troopers/neutrals, instantly fills rage bar on hero kill, and T3 recast is now base ability. Killing Blow Full Rage Damage Bonus reduced, range reduced. Killing Blow T1 now increases range, T2 increases Full Rage Bonus Damage, and T3 increases Enemy health Threshold.
  • Vindicta: Stake T2 cooldown and Crow Familiar T2 cooldown increased. Crow Familiar collision radius increased. Assassinate Max Bonus Damage spirit scaling increased.
  • Viscous: Splatter T3 spirit scaling reduced. Puddle Punch T3 cooldown and Goo Ball T3 duration increased.
  • Vyper: Screwjab Dagger T3 now also reduces charge delay. Slither T3 spirit scaling increased.
  • Warden: Bullet damage per boon reduced. Willpower T2 and T3 spirit power scaling increased.

These changes aim to rebalance gameplay flow and hero interactions, particularly around the newly defined objectives.
