Apex Legends Update: Ranked Fixes, Map Rotation, FPS Drops & Executioner Hop-Up Clarification

Apex Legends has released an update addressing several critical issues following the start of Split 2. The development team is actively working on fixes for known problems and investigating new player reports.

Known Issues & Fixes

  • Ranked Matches Starting with Fewer Players: The team is aware that some Ranked matches are beginning with fewer than 60 players. A fix is gradually rolling out and is expected to be fully resolved by the end of the day.
  • Erroneous Map Rotation Reset: Map rotations were incorrectly reset to 24-hour cycles. This issue will be resolved once the current 24-hour window expires, returning maps to their standard 4.5-hour rotation cycles.

Investigating

  • FPS Drops: Developers are investigating new reports of FPS drops. Player feedback suggests that disabling Hyperthreading and updating to the newest drivers may help alleviate the issue. It's also noted that this could be related to shader compiling and might self-correct after one or two matches.
  • Inability to Move After Landing: An issue where some players are unable to move after landing from a dropship is currently under investigation.

Correction

  • Executioner Hop-Up: The new Executioner Hop-Up regenerates 50 shields over 5 seconds, not the initially communicated 10 seconds. Players can expect further updates as more information becomes available.
