Apex Legends Explains Server Outages, Gifts Epic Apex Pack to Players

Apex Legends has addressed the recent server issues that impacted players last week, providing a detailed recap of the outages and offering an Epic Apex Pack as compensation. Players must log in within two weeks to claim their pack.

Causes of Server Instability

The server disruptions stemmed from two distinct issues:

• Map Rotation Glitch: The initial attempt to rotate out Storm Point and replace it with E-District encountered problems. Storm Point was removed due to persistent crashes for specific devices. The swap led to an initial failure, and subsequent server attempts to incorrectly search for games on Storm Point prevented players from joining matches. A new internal process has been implemented to prevent such mismatches in the future.
• Performance Monitoring System Error: Another cause was linked to a prior fix for performance monitoring systems that mishandled invalid data. Rolling back this fix resolved the immediate issues, and a more permanent solution is being developed for future implementation.
