
Welcome back to Overclocked Split 2! The midseason patch, launching on June 23rd, introduces significant Legend balancing, new shotgun hop-ups, and various fixes and improvements. These changes aim to refine gameplay and enhance competitive integrity.
Anti-Cheat Update
Respawn continues to prioritize competitive integrity in Apex Legends. This season, new detection for a reverse speed hack was implemented, preventing cheaters from freezing mid-air. Additionally, numerous exploits that could crash servers have been resolved. The development team emphasizes their ongoing commitment to combating cheaters and encourages players to report suspicious activity.
Patch Notes
Legends
Ballistic
Ballistic receives buffs to his Tactical and Ultimate to increase his viability after previous nerfs. The goal is to restore power while adding counterplay options for opponents.
- Passive: Ballistic now respawns with his Sling weapon in all game modes.
- Tactical:
- Overheat now applies to only one weapon.
- Overheat damage increased from 15 to 50.
- Overheat debuff duration increased from 12 to 15 seconds.
- Tactical charges increased from 1 to 2.
- Decreased time between firing and homing activation.
- The overheat debuff no longer re-applies if hitting an already overheating enemy, and cannot apply to multiple guns on the same player.
- Ultimate: Ballistic and teammates within range get a sprint boost when his Ultimate is activated (previously only Ballistic got a speed boost). Sprint boost only applies while sprinting.
- Upgrades:
- Level 2:
- Extra Bullet: Gain an additional Tactical charge.
- Trap Mode: When placed, Ballistic’s Tactical lasts 15 seconds and deals 35 damage if an enemy walks into it.
- Level 3:
- Quiet Time: Tactical no longer applies overheat; instead, it adds silence and slow on hit with a longer cooldown.
- Killing Time: Moved to Level 3, still provides a 15-second extension to Ballistic’s Ultimate.
- Level 2:
Pathfinder
Pathfinder's abilities and upgrades are adjusted to improve his uptime and bring him more in line with other Skirmisher Legends.
- Passive: Pathfinder now tucks in his legs while riding horizontal ziplines, making him slightly harder to hit.
- Tactical:
- Tactical charges increased from 1 to 2.
- Removed progressive cooldown; now a flat 20 seconds.
- Ultimate:
- Increased launch speed of the zipline projectile.
- Reduced cooldown from 3 minutes to 2 minutes.
- Upgrades:
- Level 2:
- Field Research: Now grants all Recon perks.
- Ringmaster: Now grants all Controller perks.
- Level 3:
- Landing Gear: Grants more air control and faster recovery from hard landings (replaces the 2 Tactical charges Upgrade).
- Level 2:
Seer
Seer receives quality-of-life buffs focused on making his Passive and Tactical more responsive.
- Passive:
- Increased activation speed of the heartbeat sensor.
- Decreased interval time between heartbeats.
- Decreased activation time for unarmed ADSing.
- Delay when aiming is more consistent between weapon and unarmed.
- Tactical:
- Reduced delay between launch and hit.
- Improved slow on hit, more effectively halting faster moving Legends.
- Ultimate:
- Upon deployment, a quick 2-second scan highlights enemies in the area.
- Enemies entering the area after deployment are also scanned for 2 seconds.
- Cloaked enemies now show footsteps within the Ultimate zone.
Axle
Axle's nerfs target areas causing frustration while maintaining her aggressive, lateral speedster identity. Her Tactical's availability is reduced, and Kickstart victims gain more agency.
- Tactical (from 5/29 Hotfix):
- Reduced max in-world count from 3 to 2.
- Reduced HP from 150 to 100.
- Passive/Tactical (from 29.1): Knocked players can no longer slide across zip codes as Axle or under a Nitro Gate effect. They can still boost through a Nitro Gate, but will slow down after the effect times out.
- Upgrades:
- "Super Slider" Upgrade no longer grants a second Tactical charge. Instead, it grants Nitro Gate a 5-second cooldown reduction and +1 max in-world count.
- Ultimate:
- Kickstart now displaces victims on a parabolic arc based on their velocity at impact, instead of straight up.
- Reduced enemy highlight duration slightly to better match stun duration.
Mad Maggie
Mad Maggie, a top performer, receives nerfs to her Tactical and Ultimate to reduce her battlefield control and speed advantage.
- Tactical: Increased Cooldown from 22 seconds to 28 seconds.
- Ultimate: Speed boost from running on pucks is replaced by a sprint boost, only speeding up movement while sprinting.
Valkyrie
Valkyrie, a consistently strong Legend, receives a minor adjustment to manage her climbing pick rate.
- Passive: Removed the recent improvement that allowed her to land faster from skydiving.
Conduit
Conduit, who spiked in pick rates after Season 29 changes, receives nerfs to her Tactical and Upgrades to address her dominance and role in aggressive metas.
- Tactical (from 5/29 Hotfix):
- Decreased Regen Rate from 15/s to 10/s.
- Increased Regen Duration from 6s to 8s.
- Decreased Ally Total Regen from 90 to 80.
- Decreased Conduit Total Regen from 60 to 56.
- Upgrades (from 5/29 Hotfix):
- Level 3 - Instant Barrier: Increased Regen Duration from 4s to 6s.
- Tactical (from 29.1): Increased Cooldown from 27 seconds to 30 seconds.
- Upgrades (from 29.1):
- Level 3 - Enduring Barrier: No longer grants regen through ring damage.
Loot & Attachments
Weapons
- Hemlok Breach AR: Magazine sizes reduced across all tiers (White: 21 to 20, Blue: 24 to 22, Purple/Gold: 27 to 25) to tone down its dominance.
- EVA-8 & Mozambique: Small increase to handling speed.
Locked Hop-Ups
- Executioner [NEW]: Available on Peacekeeper and Mastiff. Knocking an enemy grants 50 shield regeneration over 10 seconds. Unlocks for 375 points.
- Dual Shell: Removed from Mastiff.
- Disruptor Rounds: Removed from Peacekeeper.
- Graffiti Mod: Removed from Longbow DMR, Wingman, and Mozambique. Added to Flatline and Volt.
- Turbocharger: Added to Nemesis (600 points to unlock). The Nemesis will now become fully heated after two bursts, allowing it to reach its maximum fire rate quicker.

Removing “Champion Squad” Screen: The “Champion Squad” screen has been removed from the Ranked match start flow. Players will now see their team on the Your Squad screen and then immediately load into the dropship. This change addresses player frustration with misleading information and aims to provide a better representation of seasonal player skill in the future.
Bug Fixes
- Bots now properly loot weapons a few seconds after landing.
- Fixed the Beam Saber being partially visible while cloaked from Mirage revive.
- Deathbox Respawn:
- Players won't get stuck if respawned under low geometry.
- Deathbox attachment exploit fixed.
- Hop-up weapons are properly restored when a player is respawned.
- Beacon Respawn: Akimbo weapons are restored properly.
- Weapon Bug Fixes:
- Fixed issue where Bocek, Rampage, and Sentinel could sometimes not be energized with Infinite Ammo.
- Fixed issue where gold shotgun bolts did not properly apply fire rate increase with Double Tap Trigger.
- C.A.R. Gold magazine now reloads while stowed.
- Legend Bug Fixes:
- Axle’s “Jump Gate” Upgrade now respects the Movement Ability keybind.
- Added proper voicelines for pinging Axle’s abilities in-world.
- Most objects can no longer be attached to Axle’s Kickstart drone.
- Fixed Ballistic Tactical not affecting an enemy hit while healing.
- Fixed Mad Maggie’s Wrecking Ball bouncing off cloaked enemies without knockback or damage.
- Fixed a crash on startup for some PlayStation and Nintendo players.
Quality of Life
- Updated the Bocek’s first-person arrow effects.
- Maps:
- Storm Point: Out of bounds timer triggers appropriately in 10+ spots; addressed collision locations; adjusted lighting.
- World’s Edge: Fixed exploits allowing Alter to access unintended areas.
- Kings Canyon: Out of bounds timer triggers appropriately in multiple POIs.
- E-District: Out of bounds timer triggers appropriately in several POIs; addressed Alter exploits; improved lighting.
- Audio:
- Deathbox Respawn In-Progress sound increased in volume and audible radius for enemies.
- Adjusted the volume of Fuse’s Mythic skydive trail.
- Engine:
- Players can no longer hide inside tree bushes using Revenant's wall-climbing.
- Improved prediction logic around triggers like Octane’s jump pads or Horizon’s gravity lifts, reducing hitches.
- Graphics:
- Fixed framerate hitching when banners cycle.
- Adjusted shadows and highlights on Broken Moon.
- Decreased bloom intensity on all maps (recommending default brightness settings for persistent issues).
