Apex Legends July 1 Update: Seer Nerfs, Error Code Fix, and Audio Adjustments
A new Apex Legends update, released on July 1, 2026, introduces significant changes to Seer, addresses a persistent error code, and implements several quality-of-life adjustments.
Seer Tactical Nerfs
Respawn Entertainment has implemented urgent changes to Seer following player frustrations regarding his Tactical ability. The goal is to reduce the frequency of encountering Seer's Tactical.
- Home Base (Faster Tact Charge in Ult zone) Upgrade: Reduced modifier to 2.5, making the Tactical cooldown 8 seconds instead of 5 while in the Ultimate zone.
- Home Base Upgrade: Moved to Level 3.
- Energizing Focus (Regen shield on tact hit) Upgrade: Moved to Level 2.
These adjustments mean that players can now only choose one of the two most picked upgrades (2 Tactical charges or reduced Tactical cooldown in Ult) at Level 3, preventing the combination that led to frequent Tactical spamming. Developers noted that these two upgrades previously saw pick rates of ~90% and ~80% respectively. Respawn will continue to monitor Seer's performance, acknowledging that a dominant Seer meta can be oppressive.
Error Code:truck Fix
After resolving issues causing error code:truck on Steam and EA App last week, the developers have confirmed that this error has now been fixed on all consoles as well. Players should no longer encounter this issue across any platform.
General Fixes and Adjustments
- ADJUSTED: Increased the audio volume when respawning from a Death Box to improve clarity.
- FIXED: An issue where Sparrow could respawn with a fully charged Ultimate.
Bot Royale Evolved Clarification
Respawn also issued a correction regarding Bot Royale Evolved. Previously, it was stated that changes would ensure only one player squad per match. This was a miscommunication; most matches will only have one squad. Currently, about 5% of matches see two teams, increasing to around 15% during peak hours. The team will continue to monitor match data and player sentiment for the game mode.
