Apex Legends just shipped an update on June 26, 2026, introducing key adjustments to its game modes, Wildcard and Bot Royale Evolved, based on community feedback.
Wildcard Map Rotations
In response to player requests, the Wildcard map rotations will now operate on a 90-minute timer. This change aims to better align with community preferences, with developers noting that they may test variations in rotation timing in the future to find the most enjoyable experience for players.
Bot Royale Evolved Improvements
Bot Royale Evolved lobbies have been significantly altered to contain only one player squad with broad teammate matchmaking bands. This modification addresses two primary pain points identified since the mode's evolution: excessively long queue times and wide skill disparities between squads.
By reducing the lobby parameter from 1-5 teams to a single player squad, players should now experience much quicker match entry and less frustration regarding opponent skill levels. This adjustment is intended to bring Bot Royale Evolved closer to its original design as a mode for learning, warming up, practicing, and casual play.
