Apex Legends April 1 Update: Audio Fixes, Gibraltar Adjustments, and Octane Nerf

Apex Legends just rolled out an update on April 1, 2026, addressing several in-game issues and implementing a significant adjustment to Octane.
Key Fixes
The patch focuses on improving overall game stability and player experience. Audio stability has seen various improvements, aiming to reduce instances of missing sound effects across all game modes. Gibraltar received specific attention, with his arm shield no longer blocking the view while crouched and now appropriately hidden during the Dual Katana inspect animation. Additionally, a bug that caused inflated damage stats due to the Buster Rifle has been resolved, leading to the removal of affected account badges. Other fixes include preventing the Epyon Heat Rod from slowing slides when using a Shield Cell, restoring sound effects for Back Fire’s skydive trail, and various server and client crash stability improvements.
Octane Adjustments
Octane, a popular Legend, has received a notable nerf to his abilities:
- Daredevil: Fast Reloads have been removed.
- Stim Surge: The max time extension for Daredevil has been increased to 6 seconds.
- Thick Skin: The health reduction has been lessened to -5 HP, down from -10 HP.
