The Finals Season 11: Galaxy Masters Launches with New Map, Melee Rework, and Bot Matches

The Finals Season 11, dubbed 'Galaxy Masters,' has officially launched, bringing a host of new content and significant gameplay overhauls. Sponsored by COMETA, this season takes contestants to an interplanetary setting with a brand-new arena, a completely reworked melee combat system, the introduction of bot matches, and numerous competitive and quality-of-life improvements.

New Arena: Galaxy Estates

Season 11 introduces Galaxy Estates, a retro-futuristic space habitat. This arena features suburban neighborhoods, luxurious mid-century modern homes, a sports center, and a sprawling botanical garden, all overlooking the curve of the colony. Movement is key in Galaxy Estates, with speed tunnels for rapid rotations and anti-gravity columns for vertical traversal. Destructible towers containing anti-gravity columns can be brought down, altering the map's layout and opening new pathways. Oxygen pods and trampolines add to the interactive environment.

Galaxy Estates is available in Cashout, Ranked Cashout, Quick Cash, and Team Deathmatch (with five different locations). A dedicated Cashout queue for Galaxy Estates will be available for the first week.

Reworked Melee Combat System

One of the most significant changes this season is the ground-up rework of the melee combat system. The goal is to make melee a viable playstyle while ensuring it's not frustrating for opponents. The new system introduces Stamina and Precision mechanics. Stamina dictates whether a melee attack can lunge, regenerating over time or with precise hits. Precision allows for critical damage when hitting within a 'Precision zone,' with glancing blows dealing reduced damage. All melee weapons, including the Dagger, Dual Blades, Riot Shield, Sledgehammer, Spear, and Sword, have been rebalanced to align with these new mechanics. Quick Melee damage has been reduced, and a contextual Kick attack has been added, pushing targets back.

New Player Experience & Bot Matches

New players will find a revamped onboarding experience. A new tutorial introduces rookies to the world of The Finals alongside legendary contestant Dede, covering Cashout match basics and core mechanics. The Early Talent Program replaces Rookie Contracts, guiding players through modes and systems via an updated Academy screen, which now includes tutorial videos and direct access to Practice Range Challenges.

Season 11 also introduces Bot Matches. Players can queue solo or in a party for Cashout (Bots) matches, experiencing the full three-round tournament format against AI opponents. These bots navigate dynamic environments, cause destruction, and use a limited array of items, offering a learning-friendly environment. Bot matches contribute to World Tour and Battle Pass progression at a reduced rate. Currently available in Monaco, Bernal, Kyoto, Las Vegas, and SYS$Horizon, these bots are in beta and will evolve over time.

Battle Pass & Cosmetics

The Season 11 Battle Pass offers new retro-futuristic, alien, and astronaut-themed cosmetics. The Premium Battle Pass includes up to 106 rewards, bonus pages, and 1575 Multibucks. The Ultimate Battle Pass provides 12 additional legendary outfits, 20 levels unlocked, and a 25% Match XP boost, along with 2575 Multibucks (1000 immediately). The Season 8 Battle Pass joins the legacy roster.

Player Cards have also received enhancements, allowing individual editing, saving, and assignment to specific contestants. Players can now choose their pose for Player Cards, independent of intro emotes.

Competitive & Quality-of-Life Updates

Ranked Tournaments

Ranked play sees several improvements: personal performance bonuses grant additional Ranked Score based on in-match performance, scaling with tier. A clearer Ranked Score breakdown is now displayed post-match. Player calibration during placement has been updated for a more balanced distribution. Season 11 also adds an extra reward token, allowing players to earn two Diamond tokens (one for Diamond 4, one for Diamond 1).

Ping System Improvements

The ping system has been refined with consolidated ping wheels and snappier input for faster callouts. Pings now visibly tally teammates' responses, and interaction hints provide more information. Emotes are now on a single wheel, and any item can be bound to the emote key.

Cashout Spawning & Variety

Cashout modes have received tuning to their spawning systems, leading to more varied and less predictable Cashout Station locations, enhancing tactical options and replayability.

Sponsor Progression & World Tour Rewards

Sponsors will undergo a significant change in Season 12. For Season 11, Fan Requirements for Loyalty Tiers have been drastically reduced by approximately 50%, allowing players to unlock all Sponsor rewards twice as fast. World Tour rewards are now granted upon reaching a league (e.g., Diamond 4 guarantees Diamond rewards), with Emerald league rewards remaining tiered.

Balance Changes

Gadgets:

  • APS Turret: Increased projectiles blocked (5 to 6), increased health (160 to 175). Cooldown no longer regenerates while deployed; manual retrieval incurs a 5s cooldown, remote retrieval 15s, destruction 30s.
  • Breach Charge: Decreased arm time (1.5s to 1s) when deployed (1.5s for carriables remains).
  • Data Reshaper: Can now immediately disable Gateways.
  • Hover Pad: Increased health (350 to 425).

Item Progression: Item XP earn rates have been increased for various Specializations (Cloaking Device, Dematerializer, Evasive Dash, Healing Beam, Mesh Shield, Shockwave, Winch Claw) and Gadgets (Anti-Gravity Cube, APS Turret, C4, Data Reshaper, Defibrillator, Dome Shield, Explosive Mine, Frag Grenade, Gas Grenade, Gas Mine, Gateway, Glitch Grenade, H+ Infuser, Healing Emitter, Lockbolt, Nullifier, Proximity Sensor, Vanishing Bomb) to make them easier to progress.

Specializations:

  • Evasive Dash: Decreased charges (3 to 2), decreased cooldown (7.5s to 6.5s).
  • Winch Claw: Decreased minimum stun duration (0.25s to 0.1s), decreased victim lock duration (0.15s to 0.1s), decreased user act delay (0.25s to 0.1s) after grabbing a player.

  • .50 Akimbo: Increased damage (44 to 46).
  • 93R: Decreased damage (25 to 24), increased ammo (21 to 27).
  • FCAR: Decreased fire rate (540RPM to 530RPM).
  • KS-23: Increased damage (100 to 110), decreased damage falloff multiplier (0.7 to 0.64).

  • Model 1887: Increased pellet damage (12 to 13).
  • Pike-556: Increased headshot damage multiplier (1.5 to 1.75).

New Soundtrack & Bundles

Season 11 features a new, heroic, and pioneering soundtrack with 6 new tracks, available on major platforms. A new FUNKOMATIC 2000 Set bundle is available, including a legendary outfit, weapon skin, epic emote, rare charm, and 2400 Multibucks. The Season 11 Starter Pack is also available.

Cross-Promotions & Twitch Drops

An ARC Raiders event allows players to earn the Azimuth Outfit in ARC Raiders by completing contracts in The Finals, provided both games are linked to the same Embark ID.

New Twitch Drops are available, offering the Trip Report Sticker (1 hour watch), Launch Paperwork Charm (2 hours watch), and Sonia The Sonar Grenade (4 hours watch) for watching enabled streamers. Additionally, a Support a Streamer program rewards players with the Charmalure Set (3 gifted subs) and Approach Vector Helmet (5 gifted subs) for subscribing to participating streamers.

Esports: The Golden Ticket

Season 11 kicks off with the EMEA Cycle 2 Top 8 on July 11th, marking the first competitive broadcast of the new season. With reigning champions TEIKO out, the region is wide open, and teams like Five Fears are vying for a golden ticket to The Grand Major 2026. Sign-ups for Cycle 3 are open for APAC and AMERICAS, with EMEA opening on July 13th.

Anti-Cheat Updates

The Anti-Cheat team continues to refine detection systems, building on upgrades from Seasons 9 and 10. Season 11 introduces additional measures to prevent the use of third-party overlays like Crosshair X. Players attempting to launch the game with such software will receive an error (TFAV8011) and be blocked from playing until the software is uninstalled. Player reports remain crucial for ongoing anti-cheat efforts.
