Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 has officially launched on April 17, bringing cosmic secrets, gothic terrors, and a significant meta shift to the Chronoverse. The update introduces a brand-new Chain-CC Protection system, alongside a host of balance adjustments for various heroes and new Team-Up Abilities.

Accompanying the launch, Dev Vision Vol. 16 features Guangguang breaking down the upcoming changes and what players can expect from the new season.

Chain-CC Protection System

To ensure combat remains fluid and fair, Season 7.5 introduces the Chain-CC (Crowd Control) Protection mechanic. This system activates if a Hero suffers 5.5 seconds of total CC duration or is hit by 6 CC effects within a 7-second window. Upon activation, all active CC effects are purged, and the Hero gains 30% Tenacity for 3 seconds.

  • Scaling Tenacity: While active, every new CC effect increases Tenacity by 10% and extends the buff's duration by 0.5 seconds.
  • Total Immunity: At 100% Tenacity, the Hero becomes completely CC Immune until the buff expires.
  • Cinematic Exceptions: Certain animation-driven CC effects (e.g., Emma Frost's Carbon Crush, Monster Hulk's World Breaker) bypass this system.
  • Cooldown: The system has a 5-second cooldown after the Tenacity effect expires.

Hero Adjustments

Vanguard

  • Emma Frost: Reduced energy cost of Psionic Seduction (Ultimate Ability) from 3400 to 3100 to boost her suppression power.
  • Deadpool (Vanguard): Reduced The Ban Hammer (Gun Form Ultimate Ability) Bonus Health gained per hammer hit (80 to 60/70) and damage dealt per hammer hit (45 to 35). Bonus Attack Speed from Deadpool in Your Area - Vanguard to Dual Desert Eagles - Vanguard reduced from 60% to 40%. These changes aim to dial back his burst damage and survivability.
  • Peni Parker: Base health reduced from 700 to 650. Increased maximum Cyber-Webs from 3 to 4, increased Bonus Health cap from Cyber-Webs from 150 to 200, and increased Cyber-Web Cluster Projectile Speed from 120m/s to 150m/s. This strengthens her positional warfare capabilities.

Duelist

  • Elsa Bloodstone: Helix Advance cooldown increased from 8s to 10s (max passive stacks from 2s to 4s). Monster-Piercer percentage damage per pellet reduced from 1.2% to 0.8% (total from 6% to 4%). These changes rein in her mobility and threat against Vanguards.
  • Human Torch: Plasma Body mechanic adjusted: now dashes a short distance (10m) upon casting, enters Plasma Body state for 4s, has 2 charges with a 10s recharge time per charge, and a 4s cooldown between consecutive casts. This boosts burst mobility while making movements more predictable.
  • Winter Soldier: Trooper's Fist Grounded effect removed, cooldown reduced from 12s to 10s. Bionic Hook cooldown increased from 12s to 15s. Roterstern Projectile Damage increased from 75 to 80, Spell Field Damage decreased from 55 to 45. Tainted Voltage single charge energize time reduced from 6s to 5s. Kraken Impact Culling Threshold increased from 15% to 20%, base damage reduced from 80 to 70. These adjustments reduce his CC capabilities while buffing frontal damage.

Strategist

  • Adam Warlock: Cosmic Cluster cooldown reduction provided to Avatar Life Stream per hit on an enemy increased from 0.3s to 0.4s, boosting his healing.
  • Cloak & Dagger: Eternal Bond (Ultimate Ability) duration reduced from 13s to 11s.
  • Jeff the Land Shark: Joyful Splash damage falloff starts at 15m (was 20m) and drops to 60% at 30m (was 65% at 40m). It's Jeff! (Ultimate Ability) recovery time when failing to swallow targets reduced from 1s to 0.4s. This reduces his pressure on enemy backlines.
  • Luna Snow: Light & Dark Ice damage and healing increased from 22 to 24, enhancing her base combat capabilities.
  • Ultron: Rage of Ultron (Ultimate Ability) logic adjusted: Drones now bombard the area around the target, increasing coverage from a 3m radius to a 6m radius. Ultron's Encephalo-Rays Damage increased from 8 to 18, Drones' Encephalo-Rays Damage increased from 8 to 12. New Spell Field Damage Falloff starts at 1.5m, max falloff to 50% at 3m. Healing effect on allies increased from 25 to 40. These changes expand his battlefield coverage and impact.

Team-Up Abilities

Adjusted or Removed

  • Guardian of the Deep (Venom - Jeff the Land Shark/Hela): Reduced excess healing converted to Bonus Health from 100 to 50, and healing efficiency from 70/s to 60/s. This dials back the survivability of this aquatic alliance.

New

  • Lucky Loan (Black Cat - White Fox/Captain America): As the Team-Up Anchor, Black Cat gains a 5% damage boost. White Fox unlocks Nine-Tailed Aura, and Captain America unlocks Vibranium Bastion through this new Team-Up.
